FIFA Cross-play Feature

Every football lover who plays FIFA 22 at the moment, wishes to be able to play with friends from other platforms and join the online community for a friendly cross-play for exciting competitions. Now EA Sports has listened to their fans and is trying out the cross-plat feature in FIFA 22. Along with released Pitch notes on May 2, there are some great incoming contents that we want to talk about today.

The cross-play feature

There are many online video games that are already using the cross-play feature very normally and very smoothly; yet, a great football simulation like FIFA, with more than a million fans all over the world, lacks this option and there have been many complaints and suggestions about adding it. Now after many years of waiting, EA Sports finally is testing this idea to see how it works on the game.
It's currently being tested in FIFA 22 and by having a good connection, you'll be able to see the game's message, regarding the cross-play. You can try it out by playing online Seasons or/and online Friendly for now. We still don't know if the whole game would be cross-play-friendly or just these two modes, but we're really excited to finally give it a try and play with our mates worldwide.
If you run the game on an old platform generation, you won't be seeing this message. Therefore, only PlayStation 5, Xbox series S or X, and Stadia users can use the feature.

Although the feature is just a test now, you can switch it off if you don't want to try it. By following the recommended button on your screen, you can visit the cross-play menu and disable it.
On the same menu, you can also control your opponents and see who's joining you in a match. If you experienced a bad connection or lagging during a cross-play match, it's probably because your opponent is having a poor connection and you can simply turn off the feature in your following games.

According to the EA Sports announcement, the reason that test has been running for only the two mentioned modes was because of the possibility of bringing upcoming issues to important modes such as the FIFA Ultimate Team.
We're hoping that the feature would be included in FUT in the near future. If you have any ideas about cross-play, you can leave us a comment. Don't forget to check the main website and the WG store for discounted FUT coins.
