FIFA 21: Career Mode

FIFA 21 has been released for a month now, and players are getting used to the new game.

Ultimate Team is once again the most popular mode, but the Pro Club has gained some love as well. The same goes for Career mode.

For those who want to play FIFA away from the online world, the career mode is still the preferred choice for playing the game, although, it needs a lot of FUT 21 coins, it has made some exciting upgrades.

But the question remains, who are you managing?

Some have chosen the teams they support, while others have adopted clubs that have been tried and tested in career mode. But for those looking for brand new FIFA features, or perhaps to take on a new generation of consoles, we're here to help.

We've selected nine teams and broken them down into the challenges they will bring to the table, from the easiest challenge (trying to win more while managing a large budget) to the most difficult, which will be a challenge but the rewards will be sweet across the board.

Please note: Saving some board expectations may vary each time.

The easiest teams to use in FIFA 21 Career Mode

Chelsea

Used by FIFA 21 Pro Mode Team: Chelsea

League: Premier League

Rating: 4.5 stars

Transfer budget: £77,221,976

Club Value: £1,980,000,000

Primary target focus: brand exposure (critical), domestic success (high), continental success (high)

Chelsea has spent a lot of money throughout the summer and their FIFA 21 career mode squad is enviable. But the question is, will you get the most out of it?

Despite touting the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, and Kai Havertz, Chelsea's defense is their weakness. Thiago Silva is the highest-scoring player, but he won't be part of your team for long, while Reece James and Ben Chilwell need to grow up. Even Edouard Mendy, who has started well in London, has an initial overall rating of 79.

The club's expectations for the first season are a top-four finish in the Premier League, an FA Cup win and hopefully, you reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. Also improving the brand.

Barcelona

Used by FIFA 21 Pro Mode Team: Barcelona

League: La Liga

Rating: 5 stars

Transfer budget: Pound162,446,784

Club Value: £2,898,000,000

Key target focus: domestic success (critical), continental success (critical), brand exposure (critical)

Barcelona is FIFA 21's best player, Lionel Messi, but he's running out of time on the pitch. The challenge here is to get you ready for Barcelona.

In the real world, Ansu Fati seems to be challenging himself and making great strides, but with a total of 76 points in FIFA 21, he's a long way from becoming Barcelona's man of the match Grand Slam. So what will you do? Do you use their transfer funds to increase the strength of your attacks to replace the likes of Martin Braithwaite at level 76, or do you work on development to try and increase the level of Fati?

Either way, this must be done while winning the treble in the first season and strengthening Barcelona's youth development. kes

AC Milan

FIFA 21 Pro Mode Team used: AC Milan

League: Serie A

Rating: 4.5 stars

Transfer budget: £33,543,230

Club value: £473,400,000

Primary target focus: brand exposure (critical), domestic success (high), continental success (high)

One of the biggest football stories in the real world this season has been Milan's early rise to the top of the Serie A table. But can you emulate it in FIFA 21 Pro mode and keep it going?

Milan, despite being one of Italy's greatest teams, has only won the Serie A title twice in the 21st century, most recently in the 2010/11 season. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was once a Rossoneri player, but according to FIFA, he is likely to retire for the season when he finishes the campaign with 40 points, so replacing him is key. As well as the Swede and Simon Kjaer, Milan has young players including Sandro Tonali so they will keep growing well over the years.

In their first season, Milan's board wanted a good cup run and a return to the Champions League. The latter is vital to achieving their long-term goal of reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League within three seasons, while also improving their brand image. Can you revive this fallen European giant?
