FIFA 21: Updated meta best custom tactics

FIFA 21 is known for its Meta which constantly changing, which means it’s important for FIFA players to keep up with the latest custom tactics, formations, and player instructions. While everyone has their preferences regarding custom tactics, some have been tried and tested and will almost certainly give players an advantage.

FIFA 2 Custom Tactics

There are some familiar custom tactics and formations that have survived the test of time which have been clarified throughout the season to make them even better.
Here are some of the custom tactics and formations. If you’re looking for something updated, you might even find one that better suits your playstyle.

FIFA 21 custom tactics: 4-2-3-1

Defending

  • Defensive Style: Balanced
  • Width: 5 bars
  • Depth: 4 bars

Attacking

  • Offensive Style: Fast Build Up
  • Width: 5 bars
  • Players in the box: 5 bars
  • Corners: 3 bars
  • Free kicks: 1 bar
This is a classic and well-rounded formation that suits all playstyles, with a good balance of attack and defense. It’s remained strong throughout the season and has gotten even better. To make the most of it, consider applying some player preparations to make it even better.
Step 1) It is important to set the RB and LB to Stay Back White Attacking. That way, they won’t over-commit and drag themselves out of position.
Step 2) Setting your CDMs to Cut Passing Lanes, Stay Back While Attacking, and Cover Centre, will support your defensive capabilities, but it won’t weaken your attack. On the contrary, it will open up more opportunities for a counter-attack once they intercept the ball.

FIFA 21 custom tactics: 4-4-2

Defending

  • Defensive Style: Pressure On Heavy Touch
  • Width: 5 bars
  • Depth: 6 bars

Attacking

  • Offensive Style: Long Ball
  • Width: 4 bars
  • Players in the box: 5 bars
  • Corners: 3 bars
  • Free kicks: 1 bar
The 4-4-2 formations is another classic that has proven itself to be very useful in the current meta. This formation will keep your defense in its best shape. Let's see how to make the most of it:
Step 1) It's better to set your RB and LB to stay back while attacking. It’s become the standard in a lot of meta formations, and for a good reason. This way next time you will not find yourself in a situation where they’ve overcommitted and left you vulnerable.
Step 2) Set your CMs to Cover Center and stay on edge of box for cross. It may sound silly but this will help them tidy up things in the midfield and provide better attacking and defensive options.
Step 3) Setting your goalkeeper to comes for crosses and sweeper keeper will help prevent sudden goals. It’s an optional but helpful tool.

FIFA 21 custom tactics: 4-2-2-2

Defending

  • Defensive Style: Pressure On Heavy Touch
  • Width: 5 bars
  • Depth: 6 bars

Attacking

  • Offensive Style: Long Ball
  • Width: 4 bars
  • Players in the box: 5 bars
  • Corners: 3 bars
  • Free kicks: 1 bar
Although this formation is less common than others, it's more suitable for players with attacking play styles. With 4-2-2-2 you'll have many upfront opportunities without compromising too much in defense.
Step 1) Set your RB and LB to Stay Back White Attacking. You can also set them on Conservative Interceptions at the same time. It will help them do an even better job of holding the fort.
Step 2) After completing step 1, setting your CDMs to Cut Passing Lanes, Aggressive Interceptions, and Cover Centre will add more enthusiasm to your already lethal attack and keep your opponent on their toes.

FIFA 21 custom tactics: 4-3-3 (5)

Defending

  • Defensive Style: Pressure On Heavy Touch
  • Width: 5 bars
  • Depth: 5 bars

Attacking

  • Offensive Style: Balanced
  • Width: 5 bars
  • Players in the box: 5 bars
  • Corners: 1 bar
  • Free kicks: 1 bar
This tactic is also known as False 9 which has been popularized by Pep Guardiola. It’s a great formation for more defensive-minded players who like to pass the ball around a lot in their build-up. Which is a bit more complicated than other formations.
Step 1) Set your CF to Stay Forward and have the LF and RF Come Back On Defense, Cut Inside, and Come Short. It will make your attackers more dynamic off the ball.
Step 2) Arrange one CM to Get Forward, Free Roam, Cover Centre, and the other to Stay Back While Attacking and Cover Centre. The free-roaming one will provide an extra attacking option, while the other one will add more stability in defense.
Step 3) Last but not least, Put your CDM to Cut Passing Lanes, Stay Back While Attacking, and Cover Centre to send more support in defense. Have the RB and LB Stay Back While Attacking to round it off nicely.

Starting with Ones to Watch, fans have been blessed with so many useful promos ever since FIFA 23 came out. The current promo is called Out of Position and as the title appears, players received new positions with upgraded stats. You're probably thinking this is not new and we've seen similar promos before; one similar promo is FIFA 22’s Shapeshifters where players went through exactly the same procedure when receiving the upgraded stats. What to expect from FIFA 23

We are FIFA fans and after years of playing different versions, and dealing with all bugs and glitches, we can agree that FIFA 22 has come out as one of the best versions of the FIFA franchise and the next-gen version took us to another level and showed how playing football can be realistic and more fun! As we are waiting for more official announcements from EA Sports regarding the next version of the game, FIFA 23, the owners posted an interesting tweet and reported that  FIFA 23 is going to be the last game including "FIFA" in its title! This means that the next versions are going to be called EA SPORTS FC™ . We wonder if this is going to affect the gameplay in any way and we want to dig a little deeper to find out. FIFA 23 release date FIFA 233 is going to be released around September 2022 and take over FIFA 22, which happens every year in FIFA world, but the only different thing is that it is going to be the final 'EA Sports FIFA' title in the franchise.
