FIFA 21: Icon Swaps

Want to avoid the notable Icon Swaps grind in FIFA 21? Read this Golden Goal rule provided by FIFA 21 community to learn how to do it.

How to earn Icon Swaps?

There is the first batch of Icon Swaps (tokens) which you can swap for Icon player cards already in the game. If you want to get them, you need to complete 11 challenges available in the game. There're 8 Icon Swaps completed when you take a part in Live FUT Friendlies, but to earn everything currently on offer, you'll need a total of 45 wins. Although this is not going to be done soon even if you're a professional player.

How to avoid grinding for rewards

To avoid stucking in this hard-to-get over-with grind, you may as well follow this unofficial Golden Gole rule.
How it works: the first player to grant a goal will immediately grant the entire match, granting their opponent a legitimate win in a fraction of the time a full (truncated) 90 minutes would take to play out. Since the matches are friendlies, you won't miss anything (not even your FIFA coins). There are plenty of players celebrating the community effort while others have been disagreeing and choose not to abide by the 'rule', as well as concerns that it could lead to EA moving the goalposts by implementing caps on the number of games players can play at a time.
Obviously, with more Icon Swaps on the way, it seems that a large chunk of the community will be interested to keep it going.
